What are bio-based degradable materials?

Lactic acid is extracted by microbial fermentation, then refined, dehydrated and oligomerized, cracked at high temperature, and polymerized.
PLA has excellent biodegradability and can be completely degraded to carbon dioxide and water in 180 days under industrial composting conditions, without polluting the environment.
