La fibre de verre de silice est une fibre inorganique qui contente plus de 96% de SiO2. Son résistant au point à hautes températures et mou 1700, la température à long terme 900 de service. Elle peut fonctionner 10 minutes à 1450 et garde le bon état à 1600 pendant 15 secondes, pour ses propriétés de stabilité chimique, de résistance à hautes températures et de résistance d'ablation.
